Better Breathing for Swimmers

Immerse yourself in a new world of breath awareness. If you find your breath is holding your swimming or you can't get control of your heart rate in-between sets then this clinic is for you.

In this clinic Jarrod will assess the breathing mechanics and co2 tolerance of participants and train them in techniques to help overcome breathlessness and breathe to their full potential.

During this clinic participants will develop:

  • awareness of the full range of movement of their breathing muscles to take a bigger breath and fuller exhale;

  • awareness of how to add resistance to the breathing muscles whilst swimming to make them stronger and more efficient;

  • skills to improve their tolerance to carbon dioxide to ensure they feel less breathless;

  • awareness of the power of the breath to slow the heart rate after intense efforts; and

  • awareness of how to engage the breath to train lactic tolerance without needing to swim at 100% intensity. Perfect for swimmers returning from injury.

Jarrod’s pursuit to discover his abilities as a freediving athlete led him to the world of breathwork back in 2015.  Since then he has tested out many different breathwork approaches on himself as he strives to develop the awareness that will help him him as a freediving athlete.  Jarrod is a certified Oxygen Advantage (OA) instructor and Master Freediving Instructor.

The Oxygen Advantage approach provides complimentary teachings for his freediving training and helps his clients develop functional breathing patterns to support them during everyday breathing, athletic performance, times of stress and rest.
