Is this you?

Plateau. You've been training consistently but your performance has stopped progressing.

Performance-focused. You want to prepare properly for your next competition or personal goal. You want expert structure, feedback and accountability rather than figuring everything out yourself.

High-level - You're already performing at a high level and want to refine the details that separate a good performance from your best performance.

Coaching built around you

There is no universal training program for freediving.

I help freedivers understand what is limiting their performance, then build the physical, technical and psychological skills to perform beyond it.

Your program is built around:

Your goals
What are you actually trying to achieve?

Your physiology
Apnea, recovery, flexibility, strength and individual limitations.

Your technique
Identifying where efficiency is being lost and developing the skills required to improve it.

Your psychology
Relaxation, tolerance to discomfort, confidence and ability to perform under pressure.

Your life
Work, travel, sleep, stress and the time you actually have available to train.

Your competition goals
Building towards the performance you need, when you need it.

Why train with me?

I've spent more than a decade pursuing performance in freediving — first as an athlete, then as a coach and educator.

I've trained alongside elite freedivers around the world, represented Australia at multiple World Championships and achieved National and Continental Records.

I deliver specialist workshops in DNF and Monofin - masterclasses that go way beyond the basics learned in the current education streams.

But the most valuable part of that experience isn't what I've achieved personally. It's what I've learned about helping other people improve.

ATHLETE RESULTS

I work with freedivers at all stages of development — from those doing ongoing training after completing a freediving course to athletes competing at national and international level, including national and continental record holders.

These are examples of results achieved during coaching cycles.

Every athlete's program is individual, and progress isn't measured by distance alone.

What does coaching actually involve?

Online coaching isn't simply about receiving a training program. We identify what is limiting your performance, what you need to develop, and how to structure your training so you can keep progressing.

Initial assessment

We look at your goals, training history, experience, strengths, limitations and lifestyle to understand where to focus your training

Individualised training

It isn't a generic template. Your program is built around your goals, physiology, experience and schedule..

Training can include pool and dry apnea, gym and strength work, mobility, flexibility and breathwork, depending on what you need and the facilities and time available.

Coaching & feedback

We review your training, performance and recovery through regular feedback and weekly coaching review and feedback. We analyse what's happening, address challenges and make adjustments as you progress.

We focus on the specific factors limiting your performance — whether that's technique, efficiency, contractions, relaxation, CO₂ tolerance or performance under pressure.

Ongoing progression

Your training evolves as you do. As your abilities, needs and goals change, we adjust the program to keep challenging you without compromising recovery/consistency.

The aim is to build sustainable progress rather than simply chase short-term results.

Competition preparation

For competitive athletes, your training is periodised around your competition calendar, with specific preparation, tapering and competition strategy.

The goal is to build your physical and mental adaptation during training so you can perform when it matters.

Justine Podium - Melbourne Winter Championships 2023

Athlete Testimonial - Justine Diacomihalis - Australia

“He taught me not to chase a number or time or a wall but to focus on feeling. Once I tapped into that I found growth and adaptation came so naturally………I got 3 white cards and 3 pbs. It felt amazing to have had such growth in not only my breath hold and physical ability but in my heart and soul, Jarrod helped me find true purpose in life.”

I have coached Justine on and off in her preparations for freediving and fin-swimming competitions since 2023. Justine is a force to reckon with - she is a mum, a passionate competitor and one of the most resilient and likeable people I have ever met. From humble beginning in 2023, Justine has consistently performed at her best in competitions and achieved podium positions and broken National and Continental Records. Click through to her blog post to learn about her journey in choosing me as a coach and preparing for her first freediving competition.
